Development

I am a semantic web developer who develops sites and applications using PHP, ColdFusion, Javascript, CSS, and XHTML. But it doesn't just stop there; I am also a Certified Advanced Omniture Implementer and enjoy most aspects of analytics including user interaction optimization. I have experience in server management with both Linux and Microsoft technologies and also DNS management.

Ordered by start of project, below is a sampling of projects I've worked on.

Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders

My most recent solo project I've been working on creating a custom content management system (CMS) for the Michigan Tech chapter of Engineers Without Borders. This site will allow for simple content updating, blogging, photo album creation, and user-management. I've had to search the open-source community for applications to use to make this site more user-friendly to those that have no knowledge of HTML. Mostly, I've looked for WYSIWYG editors, but also a bit of code snippets as well. Don't forget to check out the administration site as well.

Men's Soccer Club

Men's Soccer Club

I was elected Webmaster/Secretary in Spring 2005 for the Michigan Tech Men's Soccer Club. I decided to update the site and give it a face lift as well as a more consistent navigation scheme. This is a CMS site built for a specific purpose. When fully completed, the backend will do everything - users will be able to upload files, edit scores and standings for the indoor tournament and fix scheduling errors.

Civil and Environmental Engineering

Civil and Environmental Engineering

During the 2003-2004 school year, the Michigan Technological University Chapter of the Society for Technical Communications took on a web redesign project in order send a group of thirteen to the STC national conference in Baltimore, MD.

I was asked to join this project as the main web programmer. It was my first website that I used php with. I was surprised at how much more I could do on the web with learning a "simple" new programing language.
